Messi's success continues - sent Inter Miami to the final of the Leagues Cup

Lionel Messi scored his ninth goal in six games as Inter Miami won 4–1 against Philadelphia Union in the semi-finals of the Leagues Cup.

Messi was responsible for the home team's second goal with a long shot along the turf in the 20th minute. 

Down 3-0 at halftime, provided by Messi, Josef Martínez, and Jordi Alba, there was little hope for the Philadelphia Union to reach the finals of the Leagues Cup, a tournament for MLS teams and teams from the Mexican league.

When Alba secured the 3-0 goal, he received good help from former elite league player Robert Taylor, who sent a goal-scoring pass past the center-backs.

Messi will be chasing his tenth goal for Miami in the final on Saturday, which will be played against the winner of the other semi-final on Wednesday night.

Norwegian Jakob Glesnes played from start to finish in the match for Philadelphia. He missed a big chance in the second half when he burned the ball over the goal from close range.

After the break, Alejandro Bedoya pulled one back for Philadelphia, but there was little hope left when David Ruiz provided Miami's fourth goal ten minutes before the referee blew the whistle.

The team they face in the final will be Nashville SC. The latter knocked out Mexican Monterrey 2-0 in the semi-finals.
